… A cikin 1947, Cibiyar Nazarin Sugar ta ba da wani shiri na shekaru goma, $57 na bincike daga Jami'ar Harvard don gano yadda sukari ke haifar da ramuka a cikin hakora da yadda za a guje masa. A cikin 1958, mujallar Time ta buga sakamakon binciken da ya fara fitowa a cikin Journal Association of Dental. Masana kimiyya sun tabbatar da cewa babu wata hanyar da za a magance wannan matsala, kuma nan da nan aka dakatar da kudade don aikin.
